Narrow Bridge Films is dedicated to making movies and television shows that can be enjoyed by the entire family.
Narrow Bridge Films principal, Joe Menendez is an award-winning director, as well as a writer
and producer in both film and television. He is best known for his work
in the family world, having directed (and produced) shows for both Disney Channel and
Nickelodeon.
Even his latest feature film, the Lionsgate Films heist comedy Ladron Que Roba A Ladron (To Rob a Thief), was most notable because it was widely considered a film that the whole family could see--even though it wasn't a family film. Although he's dabbled in drama and more "serious indie films", Menendez freely admits he feels most comfortable in the comedy/family world. And even when he's directed a drama, like Hunting of Man, Menendez' instinct is to find the humor in all.
None of this should come as a surprise to those that know or grew up with Menendez. He's been making light, breezy films with his brother, cousins and friends since he was ten years old in Miami, Florida where he was raised.
He's never been interested in making art house movies that appeal to an elite fringe or entering film festivals -- and he's embarrassed that he's even done so.
Because that's not what he's about.
His tastes were always and still are very broad and mainstream.
And so for the foreseeable future, those are the types of projects his company Narrow Bridge Films (which Joe formed with his wife Roni) will make: fun, light and breezy -- full of heart and humor that the whole family can enjoy.
